Is Vaccination Mandatory for Umrah?

BEWARE OF VACCINATION REQUIREMENT FOR THOSE GOING TO UMRA!

Every year, thousands of Umrah people go to Mecca and Medina to visit the holy lands and worship. Saudi Arabian authorities have required certain vaccinations and a vaccination certificate to be obtained for travel to the country. It was stated that this certificate must be obtained by people who will go for Umrah at least 10 days before the trip.

If the necessary documents, including the vaccination certificate, are missing, passengers will not be accepted to the plane. We remind all our Umrah pilgrims to be careful about this issue.

Which vaccinations are mandatory for Umrah?

The vaccination obligation imposed by the Saudi Arabian Civil Aviation Authority will be valid as of February 10, 2025. It was announced that this obligation, which covers everyone who will travel to the country, is valid for all visa types. It has been stated that it is mandatory for people to have the following vaccinations and to obtain a valid certificate of vaccination.

The mandatory vaccinations for Umrah travel are as follows:

Known as the Quadruple Meningitis Vaccine (MenACWY): Polysaccharide vaccine (This vaccine is valid for 3 years) or

Conjugate vaccine (This vaccine is valid for 5 years).

Where to Get Vaccinated for Umrah?

The above-mentioned vaccines are administered in family health centers in our country for 2500 TL. In addition, these vaccines can be administered in city hospitals and some training and research hospitals. Children under 1 year of age are exempt from Meningitis vaccine. There is no need to have it done.
